My new songs have been sent out for mixing and I can’t wait to tell you more about them. But that’s…a note for 2025 🙂
This is Pretty Cool:
- I wrote a song about being a friend with my friends Jessica Roadcap and Lacy Green called “I Will Be Your Friend.” And Jessica released it just in time to close out the year.
- Jessica and I also wrote “Back of a drawer.”
- Lacy and I, + our pal Adam Wright wrote “Summer Baby” which has one of my favorite characters from any song I’ve written.
- Speaking of songwriting and characters, 2024 was a good year to be a Mark Knopfler fan. He released a deluxe album, a boxing concept EP, and an unplugged EP with a new version“All That Matters” which I used to sing to our son when we was a baby.
- I did not dig Mk.Gee when I watched him on SNL. Confused about what the fuss was about, I checked out his latest album and have been obsessed since. “Alesis” is my jam.
- The background vocals on “Alesis” reminds me of one of my favorite songs “Where is My Mind” by the Pixies.
- Here’s a great solo piano version of “Where Is My Mind” by Maxence Cyrin.
- More about amazing characters…I front loaded my reading last year with Lonesome Dove and True Grit and every book I’ve picked up since has paled. Taking book recommendations.
