Operation: Pet A Duck

We’re moving. Excited. But i woke up at 3am mining memories and thinking about Operation: Pet A Duck.

I’ve decided that Sun Kil Moon makes the perfect soundtrack for packing up boxes.
And I love his album of acoustic versions of Bon Scott era ACDC songs.

When things are bonkers I like to reread PG Woodhouse books.
No one ties words together better than him. And his characters and language are a perfect world to lose yourself into.

“Good afternoon, Jeeves.”
“Good evening, sir.”
This surprised me.

Speaking of characters and language…

I had Steve Earle on the podcast this week and we talked about Townes Van Zandt and “War and Peace.”

And we talked about Bruce Springsteen’s “Nebraska.”

That intersection is a really important one for me. Springsteen’s “Nebraska” and Steve’s “Guitar Town” are massive influences on my songwriting.

Younger me would be surprised. I thought “Born in the USA” was super cheesy. Now it’s one of my favorite albums.

Speaking of being a kid…

This week I’m interviewing Jason Mraz for the podcast. We grew up in the same town / went to school together. That’ll be a fun one. Follow the show: AppleSpotifyAmazon

And shows…I’m playing The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville on May 15th. Tickets go on sale May 6th.

Thanks for listening (and reading) y’all!
